Write with Passion

Need a little inspiration to kick start your year as a writer? Check out MiG Writer's blog on my post on finding the passion in your writing. I'd love to hear any insights you might have or methods you use to keep the fire in your writing life.

I loved the quote "passion is energy" --a good reminder to keep up the "butt in the chair" rountine when I reeeeeally don't feel like it, because once I get in there working, the passion flares and the energy comes.

Thanks for this potent reminder!

I'm reading The Fire In Fiction right now- that has jump started my passion for the beginning of a new year!

I'm one of those writers that writes in big spurts and then has nothing to say for awhile. But when I'm writing, the world basically goes away.

Very nice post! :)
I like how you differentiated between a passion and a hobby. I write because I have to. I set daily word count goals, and that seems to work fairly well for me. :D

I write like Bish, and I feel so passionate and engulfed when that happens. I have something for you on my blog. Check it out when you get a chance. :-)

This was brilliant!!! I am truly inspired, I love how you explained the passion vs. the hobby... it's good to let others know what they could potentially be up against. But I love, love, love to write and when I wake up at 2am with a thought that I must write down, I am somewhat upset, but truly thankful that I woke to write it down :)

Love the blog!

To stay inspired/ keep passion, I would say 'pay attention to your writing urges.' Some days I don't feel like writing, but instead have the urge to read a book on craft and viola, there's the answer! Or, I'm tired of writing and go for a walk, and what do you know? Inspiration hits! I believe there's a time and place for everything and if you trust that (but don't use it as an excuse :) instead of fighting it, you use your 'energy' more productively.

Dawn- great points. I'm going through something similar now and your words validate how I'm feeling. Thanks for sharing!
