Back in the good old USA, I'm finding all the good things that I've missed.
1. Green, green grass.
2. Blue skies and clean air
3. Peppermint Patties
4. Burgers
5. Cars and driving
6. Grocery stores!!!! Can you believe there are more than two types of salad dressings? And have you seen the cereal aisle? Man.
7. Malls
8. TV
9. Cheap prices
10. Family

Oh, how we take these things for granted!
Enjoy your time back in the US!!
I would love to hear more. These cultural smacks upside the head are sooooo interesting.
Thanks for taking the time to share.
Too funny! Don't they have TV in Korea? What my kids missed on our last trip overseas (to Australia) ... grape jelly, blueberry eggos, pretzels, donuts, mlb coverage ;-)
I'll have to post some more of my musings as I see them. There is so much that I notice when I first come back to the States. We are a country that is truely blessed. We just don't know it. :)
Nandini- they have TV in Korea, but not any of my favorite shows! We get some of them on Surf the channel but its not the same quality and you are limited to how much you watch
Welcome back!! How long are you staying?
My kids always miss yogurt and ice cream when we visit family in India. And TV. These things are available there, but they just aren't the same...
And I totally agree that we are a blessed country but don't know it. I've traveled to lots of different countries, and there's no other place I want to live. :)
I remember coming to see you in Georgia right after Caleb was born, and you were going crazy over the cereal aisle then too. :-) You also enjoyed the cosmetics aisle if I remember correctly. It's nice to be able to look at it again with fresh eyes next time I go to the grocery store and complain about not being able to find something.
Welcome back! It's the little things that make all the difference, isn't it!
Things I missed when I lived overseas:
- Skippy peanut butter
- Doritos
- US movies and television the actual day they are released
- not feeling huuuuge!
I love reading about your traveling adventures. Thanks for sharing!
How true. We don't realise all the things we love about home until we don't have them. Enjoy your time at home.
Enjoy your time home. When do you go back to South Korea?
Rena- We'll go back to Korea in early August. Right now we're traveling a heap. So I'm having a hard time accessing internet.
